If I remove my name from the cards. Will it still affect my credit score if she defult the cards?

not that simple a person can not remove a name unless the card is at a zero balance and it that case she would not defult on the debt!!!

I doubt that they will let you "remove your name" from a card that has a balance due. You can try having her get cards in only her name, and then transfer the balance to those new cards. But if you are married, it doesn't make much difference.

The debt incurred up to this point is still joint debt, so yes, your credit would still be affected.

If you have reason for fear, you should close the account completely and let your wife get a new one in her name only.

yes and you can't remove your name because whatever debt is already aquired on the card is both of your resposibilty.

you can't remover your name until the balance is paid. they can't just take someone's name off and say, "ok, your not responsible now". You HAVE to pay it.

Shouldn't be... they'll probably issue another card for her own personnal use.
