Then i guess it isnt then is it. Since women havent had the right to vote or be in politics til only recently.
Men have the upperhand because they started earlier. America then isnt free and equal. RIGHT???

After visiting the Q&A site frequenly it is becoming clearer that there is a great misapprehension prevailing in American minds, mostly ( reportedly )young women, that women really are a weaker sex and they can not be equal to men in most of the important fields including politics. No matter how many times efforts are being made that democracies in Europe, Asia , South America have elected and are electing women as Presidents, Chancellors and Prime Ministers ( who have risen to great hights in excellence and have proven better than their men colleagues), no visible change has come in the mind set . It is deep rooted and a very great effort is to be made to eradicate.
Some PIONEERS like Hillary are required even to sacrifice their careers to fight for the cause of Equality for American Women. Since it is said 'Eating the pudding is the way for believing its taste', the wise and pragmatic in the American voters should vote in large numbers a woman president candidate ,besides expressing / articulating their wise concilling.

No all politician need alliances and there are more men than women in the government in general so this doesn't make it a friendly environment for a woman. Women are less likely to take an interest in something such as politics where there is a lot of sneaky behavior and it's an aggressive environment

I have no problem with having a female as President. What I don't want is a female who is president that has an attitude problem. I certainly do not want a female who gets all emotional when it comes to the nuke decision. And I say that because I know, seeing that I am a female and I know how some females can be quite emotional and illogical. You know kind of like Hillary. I like Condi though, but she is not running.

You do not have kids then. As far as never having a female president will how may years have woman Had the right to vote. It is only a matter of time until we elect a woman to the most powerful job in the world (maybe even next year.)

EXCUSE ME!!! Being female doesn't make us weak!!
By the way, what's up with you and asking about females not being U.S. presidents? Typically, men are the ones who run because there are more of them that are qualified for the job. You can't just walk up and say, "I'd like to be President." You have to go through many years of being in politics. Women haven't been in politics as long as men have. That and America votes for its president, we just haven't picked a women yet.

9 times out of 10, if a black man or woman got elected to this government, they would be a puppet for white people and wouldn't do anything for the advancement of the black community anyway. Like a Condelleza Rice/ Clarence Thomas type. If a woman did get elected in this sexist country, she would probably be a take no bull, Hillary Clinton look a like. (Anyone ever noticed how Hillary looks just look the mother in Manchurian Candidate)

It means that we'd rather leave it to the guys to destroy international relationships between countries and vomit on world leaders. We'll be back at home shaping the future generation and finding cures for cancer, plzkthnx.

Other countries have or have had successful female leaders. We still haven't been able to hurdle the gender barrier. But I think that the policies of George Bush will change that.
