two questions.
ive called the news about my school reporting a problem with rats and another issue too long to explain. well i gave then ews my name when they asked me and i didnt know they would tell the school my first and last name, i got called down to the office twice for both reports and they said if i call the news again to report something at the school i will get suspended =( can they do that? just for me calling then ews so word gets out and the school fixes the issue?
and during lunch i was on my sidekick 3 (not it was LUNCH! i know school is not for socializing and its for learning and im on the A honor roll but during lunch i chat on my sidekick) and the principal caught me so when i handed him my cell i put the phone on lock so you hav to put a 3 letter code to access my phone. i got sent to the office during 3rd period n they told me to give them my unlock code so they can get into my cell! if i dont they said they will not give back my $300 phone. can they do this

my school is in Texas, USA and they are supposed to give back the phone by the end of the day to your parents. if was my FIRST time getting it taken up so my parents shouldve been able to get it at the end of the day. second time you pay $15 to get it back, 3rd time you pay $25 to get it back, 4th time the school keeps your phone and you have to pay $200 to cancel your cell phone contract -_-

If the school has rats and hasn't got rid of them, I believe the news should be notified, maybe the bad publicity will get something done. Next time make an anonymous report (or give the name of your enemy, ha ha!).
If the school took my kid's $300.00 phone I would go in there and kick their butts. My personal belief is that they can take your phone temporarily but since it is your rightful property, they should return it at the end of the school day and it's none of their business what the 3 digit code is.
And where are your parents, they should be helping you with these issues!? They should complain about the rats and they should call the police, tell them your phone was stolen and give the principal's name as the person who stole it.

honestly the school prolly can suspend you for calling the news about a problem that it doesn't feel that it has. It brings bad press to the school which can cause problems from the state and school district.
About the whole phone thing, they can't keep your phone. At my school they can only hold it for a day or until your parents pick it up. If I were you I'd have my parents call to get the phone back. As for unlocking it I really don't understand why they would ask you to unlock it. That implies that they have the intention to search your phone, which they really don't have the right to do without your permission. Just get your parents involved into the situation to get your phone back.

While I'm against religious schools, I think that if Muslims or any other religion wants to build their own private school, they should be allowed as long as they follow the standards of the educational system the country/state has in place. If the school can cover the secular curriculum, then they should have the school.

Of course the school is going to pick on you, to them you are the mouse and they are the cat. I had this same problem when I went to school, well sorta, the vice principle hated me and was always trying to find a way to get at me, you need to go with your parents up to the school and have them get your phone back and have them speak up for the "little guy".
Also, you have the right to tell the news anything you want, anyone can call them, they want to hear stories like this, if you have photos and proof then call the health administrator, if they want to play games you need to find the highest authorities you can, contact them, and tell them, since you have internet access, try to find every email address to every person in control of the school and send the photos to them over the net.

What country are you in?? Sounds to me like the school is exceeding it's authority and basic civil liberties. Rats are an environmental health issue so contact whichever government department deals with that. If they keep your phone, technically it's theft - although asking for the unlock code sounds a bit strange to me. Confiscation is a temporary measure so if they refuse to return it, get the police involved.

Okay, first off they can't suspend you for telling the truth about your school's problem. I'm not too familiar with law, but I am pretty sure that suspending you for going to the news isn't in the student code of conduct...meaning they can't punish you for that. And about that phone, they are breaking laws there for real because they are not the police and they can't just go through students phones because they want to. I would have asked them to give me one good reason why they needed to unlock my phone. Tell your parents about this. They should be able to handle this with no problem. Staff tries to take advantage of younger minds to see how far they can go without getting caught.

They cant do either.
1st: If they do not take care of it you can call whoever you want to take care of the problem. If someone from the health department came in and saw it, They would kick all you students out to another school till the School Admins took care of it.
2nd: They can, Its your personal bissnus, They cant do one flipping thing about it, For evample, I could run acrooss the street from my school and yell out that the Principal sucks man ***, And they could not do one thing about it.

number one. No, this was a safty and outside school issue you need to involve your parents and if they dont get on it then discuss it with the superintdent or police. This is unbelivible.
2) NO. Your school has lots of problems. It is YOUR phone. YOUR money was used. its YOUR property. This is stealing. They took something that dosent belong to them. And didint give it back.
Switch schools.
This school is messed up

Sue the school for harrassment!! Go to social service contact the governor or government to do something. It is true that some schools are infested with problems, but you have to stand up for your school.
