Funny how MVP and best player always get lumped together. They are two different things. Does Brady mean more to his team than anyone else? Would New England fall apart if they lost him? Who really is the MVP...not the Best, the most valuable to their team? Should be interesting if you really think hard about it . Who really is...... VALUABLE?

A lot of good comments so far. It makes you wonder. Not really being a fan of any one team, I can see more than those who are die hard fans. Some interesting questions. WOudl Cleveland be where they are without Anderson at QB? WOuld Green bay be where they are without Favre at QB? Etc. with Romo. At non Qb's, would Ronnie Brown had gotten Miami a win if he stayed healthy?Gore with San Fran? Lots of good meat in this arguement!! Thanks to all who answered.

Brady is the MVP of the NFL so far this year and here's why: He is the most instrumental player on the best team in football, and while I think New England would still be good without him, they'd be more like 7-4 at this point.

And I'd like to break down Shawn's response here too because it needed to be done...

Quoted from Shawn, my responses are in parenthesis:
Tom Brady is the beneficiary of a GREAT surrounding cast of teammates. (Yes he is, but he is also one of the GREAT players on the team, by the way, how many "pro bowl" lineman does he have? Just one who only made it as an injury replacement).
He is a solid QB -but not the best. Where would he be without the likes of Randy Moss? (Like last year when they were a penalty away from the Super Bowl with Reche Caldwell as the primary receiver).
I think any solid QB would excell in the New England system. (True, but he fits the system quite well and keeps it running smoothly, isn't that pretty valuable?) MVP? Probally will. But imagine Peyton Manning in the New England offense, or Romo for that matter. (Now this is just funny, imagine Peyton Manning with a good offense, Harrison, Wayne, Addai, Clark.... That seems pretty good to me. And Romo? Well, we'll wait and see here but his weapons are pretty good too.)

I interpret the MVP to mean the player who has the most impact on a team...I used to think it was Favre. Then he got knocked out of the game on Thursday, and the backup came in and did an awesome job. Not a win, but proved to me that the Packers do not live and die by Favre. We actually did better against Dallas without him.

I only saw the Philly game, and I was impressed with Brady then. You will only get a biased opinion from me regarding Moss, so I'm not going any further with Moss.

MVP should be Brady.

I think that most of the time the nfl gives the MVP to the best player.
Tom Brady is easily the best player in the NFL but maybe peyton manning should be the MVP.
Brady is awesome but with Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Watson, the best O-line in the Nfl and a solid defense its easy to play.
Manning is the key of his offense he manages everything, he dont have the explosive receivers that Brady have and dont have a great o-line like brady.
Anyway the MVP should be awarded to Brady, it was the same thing the last year tomlinson won even that without him the chargers shouldnt had been a bad team

Brady could have been the MVP in other years but had crap receivers. We're seeing a little bit of how Manning is off a bit without his beloved Harrison. There is some argument that Moss could be the MVP and I'd even think that T.O. might get a few votes if it wasn't positional. Not to spark the Manning v. Brady debate but Indy would be better off with Sorgi than NE would be with Cassell making Brady more valuable to his team. Addai also weakens Manning's case. I suppose Favre is a candidate this year as well leading such a young team. For a non-QB vote, I like T.O. this year.

QB- Kurt Warner (I know some people would say are you crazy, but I really think he is the best. He led that team and got knocked around all season and just got back up, he is one of the best and most people just don't know it). RB- Deangelo Williams- (Peterson fumbles the ball way to much 9 times is one season is terrible. Williams is explosive, and can run over people). WR- Calvin Johnson- (He is a beast, can go up against anybody, besides Nnamdi, he is the only thing Lions fans can be proud about). TE- John Carlson- (I know he is entering only his second year, but last year he was amazing and the only good thing about the Seahawks last year). OL- Steve Hutchinson- (Really he is the only reason Peterson is any good, remember when he was in Seattle, Alexander was a beast, then when Hutchinson left, Alexander was terrible, hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to Peterson). DL- Julius Peppers- (Common thinking would tell you someone his size shouldn't move that fast. He is a freak, extremely athletic, no one can block him, only times teams seem to stop is when every one is blocking him). LB- Demarcus Ware- (Only reason I put Ware ahead of Willis, is because Ware can get sacks, Willis can't.) DB- Nnamdi Asmugha- (Teams are to afraid to even throw in his direction, I remember when the Raiders drafted him everyone called it a bad pick, who's laughing now).

Of course Brady's the MVP. I'm sick of people saying any QB can play better with Moss, Welker and Stallworth. Look at the Pats backup QB Matt Cassell. The very first pass of 2007 he threw was picked off ... and this was against Miami! New England is lost without Brady. They have a slew of amazing offensive receivers without a leader.

He is a ridiculously good QB to the point that it's sickening. However, I don't feel he's an MVP. He was never honored with the title since his professional NFL career began when he was drafted in 2000, so I think that pretty much speaks for itself. Just my opinion. He's definitely easy on the eyes though =)

I'd say both I mean he a 3 time super bowl winner so he's one of the best at his position and he's clearly the MVP this year because look at the year he is having and if he wasn't playing who knows what the patriots record would be.

Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL this year, but New England could survive without him. They are a the best TEAM in the NFL this year.
