No. Ashes don´t contain any carbon. During cremation all carbonaceous material in your body is burnt and become CO2.
It is possible to make artificial diamonds though. I think the raw material is coal dust that is "zapped" in a special microwave oven or lumps of coal exposed to enormus pressure and temperatures.
-edit-
The process that lifegem company uses is quite clever. They don´t use ashes as it doesn´t contain carbon. Instead they turn hair into coal, or graphite, before the cremation. And then they turn that graphite into a diamond.

Yes! Although htey are not mainly composed of carbon, with hte right amount of pressure, heat (and a couplethousand dollars), you can turn someone's ashes into a diamond. I think htat htey even use hair inthe process.
And just so you know- there is carbon in pretty much EVERYTHING!!! Even ashes.
Don't believe me?
Check out this site....

confident it rather is yet you may have seek the internet for an corporation that does it,. It takes truly an prolonged time for the ashes to be became into diamonds and fees countless funds. i think of they positioned the ashes below a extensive quantity of tension and it turns to diamond in approximately six months

It is possible to turn pure carbon into diamond. Even if it wont have all the same characteristics. I dont think you can do that with simple ashes unless you purrify them to get carbon only

There are actually a lot of companies that offer this service. Here is one http://www.lifegem.com/ (am not affiliated to them at all). A friend of mine used them after the tragic death of her 8month old child.
