It doesn't make sense. Bush's approval rating is at a all time low, the polls show the majority wants us out of the war, and the people elected a democratic house and congress for that purpose. Why are people supporting candidates that are basically following in Bush's footsteps? This country needs a revolution, but are people too scared to actually try for it? How long are we going to let the same chariade occur over and over again?

First rule of being more skeptical.....DO NOT believe all the polls you see on major networks. Many of these polls only ask about the top tier candidates. The plan is not to talk about Ron Paul so average Amercians think he has no chance to win....when in reality, Ron Paul is the best thing the United States can hope for in the upcoming election (check out Paul on youtube). He represents protecting the liberty and freedom of individuals....He does not support continued protection of the political power structure that has been created in Washington over the last 30 years. BIG money is scared, that's why you don't hear about Ron Paul. Every post debate poll, GUESS WHO WINS. Ron Paul 08 ALL THE WAY!!!

Because Ron Paul offers a REAL alternative to the Republicrats who will basically run the country the same way.

The Establishment king makers don't want to get rid of our huge federal government, or the IRS and income tax. So anybody who seriously offer these proposals will be smeared as being kooks and fringe candidates. Look how many people here have drunk the kool-aid and repeatedly call Ron a kook without debating the issues.

There is a lot that happens behind the scenes that most of us don't see or hear about. Here is an article about how the Establishment is able to smear people like Ron Paul:

The news media, especially the majority which is controlled by the republican high command are afraid of Paul, and are doing their best to ensure he is neither seen nor heard. Look at the debates-- he is deliberately getting less time than any of the other candidates to express his views. Hopefully he changes his mind and will run independent. He may just win!

I don't know. Maybe it's because he's a republican. There were rumors about "conspiracies" in the Main stream media preventing him from getting coverage. On FOX, his words were twisted around and some newscasters said he thought 9/11 was caused by the US-which he hadn't said at all! I agree with you, though. I hope he'll be the Rep. candidate.
On the CNN debates, he was asked if he'd go independent, and he defended himself by saying that he'd raised more money in the first three months of the fourth quarter than Giuliani in the entire third quarter. So, I don't know. Maybe he's not very serious about running, but I doubt that. Hopefully, things will change quickly enough for him to be our next president.

Ron Paul is a lot more than opposed to this war.
His tax policy is unworkable.
His entire foreign policy is a call to withdraw us from every multilateral organization that provides global solutions to global problems.
His environment policy relies solely on tort law.
And of course he would have no hope of implementing anything he promises as he would have to deal with a very hostile congress
Being anti war does not mean the rest of your platform should be ignored.

First, Ron Paul isn't higher in the polls because he's nuts, pure and simple. You want Ron Paul, I think he left the debate the other night in a flying Saucer. What do you think happens in the Middle east if we leave?? What do you suppose Israel will do?? Do you want $6.00 a gallon gasoline??? Here's the 411...........not all the democrats are crazy Liberal, socialistic, Communists. The democrats have been hijacked by Clintonestas. You want to being troops home, lets do it in order, lets bring home the WW2 troops from Germany and Asia, then the Korean Troops.......wake up, look at the very dangerous world we are in.

to just plain Jim----can't you come up with anything new? Or is this your one size fits all answer?

Ron Paul isn't higher in the polls because if the question is never asked, people cannot answer it. Pollsters don't want to know about Ron Paul, so they don't ask, therefore he never gets mentioned by them at all.

Many Ron Paul supporters are technology savvy humans. They depend on their internet and cell phones. Many don't own land lines. When many of these polls are conducted they are done so on land line telephones. Does that leave a certain percentage of the population out of the polling process? Sure.

They also zap polls where Ron Paul takes the lead (See Faux news)

Because the majority of people will not know about him except for what they read in the paper or see on TV

Because of pollsters like Frank Luntz. Here, Penn and Teller explain it all, or at least point you in the right direction.
