I had this problem too. It turned out that there was too much iron in them for me. I suggest taking flinstone vitamins. I did that and felt great.

Sometimes they do make women puke, the suggestion is to take them at night rather than in the morning so they have time to be absorbed during the night.
They are not supposed to MAKE you puke though.. talk to your doc if it gets real bad, he/she may be able to prescribe you a different type of prenatal possibly to help with the nausea too.
I have also heard to take 2 chewable flinstone vitamins in place of prenatals every day.

they make me puke almost every time.. its almost like, "what's the point" if ur just puking them up every time, right?
I just try to take them when I feel the best each day.. I can't take them right after I eat, or on an empty stomach.
when I told my dr about it, they said I could stop taking them for a while, but NOT if you are in the beginning of ur pregnancy..that's when they are most important.
another thing ur dr can do is prescribe you a different kind of prenatal..
and you can try to buy some urself.. like from vitamin cottage, where they may be easier on ur stomach.. ;)
good luck!
EDIT: wow, no one told me about the flinstones thing!! I wish I would have known.. ;(
definitely try that..

They shouldnt make you sick but sometimes the size of the pill or the taste can sure make it happen. I had chewable prenatals. They had kind of an orange sherbert taste to them. My doctor actually gave me a bag of samples to try. I tried a new kind every week until my next appointment. Then I told her which ones I liked best. Maybe ask your doctor for some samples or see about taking some childrens vitamins.
Good Luck!

The only time I threw up during my pregnancy was due to prenatal vitamins. My OB put me on premesis. It had the folic acid and B vitamins with ginger. Worked great. I have never been able to take the full strength vitamins they have always made me sick. Let your doctor know, there are other things you can take that wont make you sick.

A lot of woman have that happen.
My doctor told me (because i had the same problem) to buy flinstone vitamins and eat 2 of them every morning or every night and that it had the same value as a prenatal. Which if you go to the store and compare the 2 and everything they have in them...they are the same!!! I recommend it with everything i am. haha those prenatals suck! I took the flinstones my entire pregnancy and had a magnificent boy who is now a healthy 7 month old so..its just the same!

Sometimes....
I had problems taking my prenatal vitamins during my first trimester..It makes me puke..maybe because of the folic acid. I'd suggest you take your prenatal vitamins with full stomach.

No. And yet they do sometimes. Try taking them with a little food in your belly right before you lay down to sleep at night. Tell your OB, they may have a kinder, gentler vitamin that you can take. Good luck!

No. It could be the iron. If you are still in your first trimester, you can take folic acid - that's the most important nutrient in the first months. At the second trimester when the nausea lessons, you can switch back to a regular prenatal.

I couldn't take them during my last pregnancy because of my morning sickness. The doctor told me to take 2 children's vitamins instead.
