Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart are sitting at Waylon's knee as we speak trying to learn Country music, because they love his style as much as we do!!!

I'm gonna get hit on this but I'll give you he was top 5 but Hank Williams Sr. is the person who did it first. best remembered as singing from the true pain (you can't compare guitar work as most harder to play songs didn't come until the 1970s) and had the don't give a F*&^ attitude way before Waylon thought about it. (For example... Jennings hated the song Luckenbach,Tx (back to the basics of love)

Waylon and Willy are actually cut from the same mold. Both had careers as mainstream artists (waylon with Buddy Holly and by himself, Willie wrote many 60s songs and did minor hits) but both got tired of people in the 1960s and 1970s telling them what to do (as well as Johnny Cash) hince we have the outlaws... Hank Jr. experimented with it before doing it fully after his accident in 1975.

I am a big Waylon fan and while I agree with you to an extent, I also know that it is a matter of personal opinion and as long as there are varied tastes in music and people willing to discuss the artists, it will always be open for debate. There are many tremendous artists that wrote, sang and experienced longevity whether living or dead

Ok, ok, don't get me started. I absolutely LOVE Waylon Jennings, but I absolutely LOVE Hank Sr EVEN MORE!! And the two had different styles so I guess you could say Waylon was the best outlaw singer, but Hank still is the best musician EVER in my book.

because Waylon was a country singer, and music is divided into many categories, thats like saying the beatles were the best, you are better off debating him as the best "country star/musician" that ever lived. there are other musicians out there that can do the same in their own right too, for example Wayne newton can 20 some instruments, thats many more than any other musician that i can think of. i would just rephrase your question for proper debate.

And to think that Waylon could have gone down on the American Pie (the plane that crashed and took The Big Bopper, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens) at such a tragic young age.

For the style music that Waylon sang he was the Crowned Prince of the "Outlaw Movement"of country music.

I was a top debater, but I REALLY like Waylon Jennings, but I say Merle was the best not in the mood to debate(to lazy this am).

Waylon is a good ole boy, never meanin no harm. They just don't show his hands on TV. At least not on the Dukes of Hazard. Willey Nelson is OK in my book, too. Can't beat the GOOD OLD Country Music!!

You know I must be getting tired so I'll just agree. Waylon was one hell of an entertainer that did things his way. He had that "If you don't like my music, You can stick it up your nose" type attitude and that's what made him one of the best. He took his style of music and ran with it. Thank God for musicians like him. Wish we had more of his kind now a days.
