yea it was just to get my wisdom teeth removed. i wasn't that scared about anything except for the shot-lol! So they gave be the nitrogen, and then gave me a shot, which would have made me live and dandy, but then i suddenly felt extremely heavy. i couldnt move. The doctor asked me questions like, what school do you go to, do you go to the football games, and do you take any hard classes? And i was like, wtf, hes a doctor not my grandma. The last thing i remember was being too tired to answer, what's you school mascot. I felt rude too, but i was just sooo tired. i guess people say that you'll forget everything when you've woken up, but within a few seconds of waking up, i knew exactly where i was and i remembered everything up till Vikings, the mascot that i did not say. it was almost like someone had taken the tape of my life and cut a chunk out of the middle of it. 2 unconcious hours had just passed me by, and yet i felt like i had missed nothing, like it had been two hours ago. it was really a good experience, actually. now whenever i want to go to sleep and i cant fall asleep, i think of the way i felt when they put the uhh, tranqulizer stuff in me. and id go right to sleep-like a baby.:)

I have had a lot of surgeries starting when i was 14 yrs old i had my tonsils removed, then when i was 16 yrs old i had a tumor taken out of my ovary and tube and had to have it removed, then i was in a horrific car accident and had to have my knees operated on numerous times and i have had my gallbladder out, my tubes tied, a d/c and a complete hysterectomy, and i was scared out of my mind...Not until i got into the holding area before the surgery then i would cry like a baby... so if u are scared it is ok to be ....

I had a hernia operation when I was 17 and was scared. I learned it was all an overreaction.
My niece had open heart surgery when she was 17 and was able to run and play a few months later...something she was unable to do before. She's 20 now and is going to college and living a happy- healthy- and active lifestyle!

yeppers! I wasn't scared, because I was dead at the time. They brought me back to life and stitched me together, then they kept me in a comma state for a week with some coma inducing drugs. I don't remember a thing till a month later when my brain actually started to put my life back together into cohesive memory. Crazy stuff the brain. And now I'm back causing trouble on the inter web too!
PS this was in 2003, and if you don't believe me I can give you some proof. This is real.

Yes, I was playing with my kitten one Christmas and placed my knee down on a lost needle in the carpet and I couldn't bend my leg outright, so off to the hospital I was taken and 2pm that afternoon, I was in surgery having my knee opened up to get the needle out which had broken in three pieces. I wasn't scared but it was a painful ordeal..

I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out at one time. I was nervous a bit, but man was it a nice little trip when I woke up.... One minute I'm sitting in the chair, he says "you'll feel a pinch in your arm" and then I'm waking up and it felt good too lol. then he put me on some nice pain pills and everything was fine until I got dry socket......... But the little surgery was fine and I came out great and I got to take a week off of work and sit and do NOTHING and it was a great little vacation ^_^
Just the dry socket was escrutiating(I know, sp..) -_-
Gotta make the best of things!!

I have had surgery before and it is normal to be scared. You get through it and most times all turns out o.k.
