I think marriage for most people is a HUGE mistake! The reason behind this is because people don't really get the understanding behind lifetime committment. This means that it's OK to observe other people, but flirting with, kissing and/or having sexual contact with anyone else other than you marriage partner isn't supposed to be apart of most marriage aggreements.
Another thing I can't stand about marriage is the fact that people don't understand that WHATEVER personality disorder you are dealing with when you are dating a person, is GOING TO BE THERE FOR THE LIFE OF THE MARRIAGE! People seem to think that when you get married, it gets better. People will go out with someone who is loud and obnoxious on a date. That is great if you like loud and obnoxious... but they date this person and marry this person and 15 yrs later, they are complaining about the fact that their wife/husband is a loud mouth. No one changes. Either the stuff is being ignored before marriage or it is slightly dormant... but it is generally revealed before the marriage committment.
People marry something because of looks or money or status. They don't understand that when you aren't inlove with that person, chances are super high that you are going to get bored or annoyed or intolerant at some point.
The only good thing about marriage is the fact that you have a unit of two people who are supposed to depend on one another. And in a world where loving communication is dying, it is nice to have one other person you can totally depend on. But, it's gotta be the right one...and most people don't take the time to learn that...

I would get married, and I hope to one day. But I think it is an important institution, not something that people should enter into lightly. It seems that the divorce rate is skyrocketing and people are not thinking through their relationships. I would want to do it right and work at keeping the marriage intact. There are reasons for divorce, but I think lots could be prevented if people thought twice before getting hitched.

It can be great and it should be great.Never settle for less that's my advice!Bad times will come and go and as long as both parties can work it out together and learn from it,marriage can be the beginning not the end like some would like to think!

Marriage is rough, if you get married make sure your both on the same page with each other and are able to be there for each other equally.

I think marriage is a waste of time and energy. I dont see the point in getting married. If you want to have children someday then getting married would be the best choice. If you dont want to have children, which i dont, then why bother. Marriage is REDONKULOUS!!

I'm flattered that you would ask me this on our first date. I mean I knew I was hot, but wow!
But seriously, yes I would like to be married. The trouble is I'm getting to a difficult age (44) where I don't find women my own age very sexy... so I'm looking for a somewhat younger woman, maybe in her 30s and young-looking with it. Trouble is they wouldn't look twice at an old fool like me... lol... looks like I'm going to die without ever having found The One.

I think marriage is a very hard thing to do. You have ups and downs and it is now so easy to give up and just get divorced. When you are young you tend to take it for granted. My husband and I are now practically empty nesters. We only have our daughter who is 20 living with us. she works and goes to college so on Friday and Saturday nights its just me and my husband. Even though I may be in my home office and he is watching TV, I feel content knowing he is here with me. I look forward to spending our golden years together.

Marriage is what you make it, just keep out family when dealing with your spouse.

It is the hardest thing in the world to maintain.. yet you are joined to this other person for eternity. You love each other but it is work as you navigate all the problems of life together.
