whaa????
Since when do people state their intentions when adding someone as a contact ?
No ones ever done that to me...they just add me, period.
I have never added a contact, nor do I have anyone blocked.
But I would imagine that people have some sort of an interest in that person's Q & A.
Oh and sometimes in their T&A (t!ts & @ss)..lol
Ive had dudes that add me, and when you look at the other people they've added, it's all sexy females....like a collection of chicks.
I once had a young boy add me...his Q & A was filled with stuff about pokemon cards and bubblegum and candy...and he added Delicious...a full grown woman...LMAO.

I have only 2 blocked persons from the community. I doubt they are around anymore. No, I wouldn't block someone unless they were up to no good. It would be quick and easy to figure it out.
I've added a lot of people to my contact list. Most have reciprocated. I almost never state an intention. I just add them. I'm sure I've worried a few people by not saying anything before adding them, but it's definitely worth while. If they are worried and block me, so be it. I wouldn't want narrow minded, easily offended, contacts anyway. If they block you when you add them, generally it's because they don't have much to share. I get to see the best questions and answers without having to sort through the junk myself.
Take care.
You might be next.

I have only added a few people as contacts(2 or 3) before they've added me. I have way more contacts than that. Most have added me and I add them in return. I have deleted a contact because she wasn't worthy of being one of my contacts. She asked shallow questions about herself constantly. It really depends on the avatar/picture. That's shallow, but it's the truth. I will take a look at someone's 360 page if they have one and I can actually view it.

Currently, I have 106 contacts and no one on my blocked list. And so far, so good. I try to be relatively certain that those I add (or who add me) as contacts don't have devious (or malicious) intent...and really, there's only been one person who's ever tried to gain access to my account in order to create havoc. (I only had to temporarily blocked him, and haven't had any trouble since.) The reasons I would add someone as a contact? Well, it could be I feel I have a personal connection, or sometimes it's because I'm really impressed by the quality of their answers, and in some cases, it's both.

By order of priority:
a) I like their ideas, I find them intelligent or I can relate to them in certain way.
b) They are funny and nice
c) They made me a contact first and therefore I become curious to meet them ( not all, some I have blocked because it seems they are trolls that want to eliminate my account).
In overall. I like to meet people of diverse ideologies and cultures, it makes me feel this earth is smaller than what it seems.
It makes me feel I have a lot of friends...while the computer is connected...and before you ask, I have friends in real life...but hey I have been working in front of this screen for a long time...I finish on Tuesday!! Yeah!! back to normal life :-)

One of the joys of Yahoo Answers is that there are some really clever people on it - I add them as contacts.
His or her specified on non-specified intentions have nothing to do with it.

me? Their responses just need to indicate they are as crazy as a s*hithouse rat. And I don't even care if they are faking it.
And I don't block anyone.

I add someone because I like their q&a.
If someone becomes my "fan", I usually go through their profile to see if they are a troll, and if so, or if their q&a is private and I don't know them, I remove them.
