I realize that many feminists are Democrat, but I am not. I also realize that the Republican base had been overtaken by Christian Conservatives, which deeply goes against the core belief that government should stay out of the bedrooms and boardrooms of Americans. Do you agree with this sentiment?

I agree with you. I tend to see myself more as a moderate but I can agree with the fact that Republicans do need to get back to basics. I think they only concentrate on helping one group of people, thinking it will help others, and it just does not work that way. :) Good question by the way! :)

I think that the word feminist is misused by people who don't like the idea of women in power.

Feminist means being in support of women's rights. I am puzzled that girls and women older than me have trouble understanding. In my school there are girls who say they aren't feminists, but if they don't believe that they deserve the right to an education what are they doing there?

Sorry to rant. To answer your question, I view the republican party as being too filled with corruption right now. Those that have respect for how politics should be run should split off from the party and form a new one.

yeah, sure. But I got all the republicans out of my bedroom. Went on a steady diet of boiled eggs, beans and fermented goat's milk. Does the trick every time. Well, Falwell is still in there, and he's not smelling too good himself. The others tried to scare me by dressing him up in a red polyester suit and propping him up in the corner with a candle in his hat. Guess I'm gonna need a pitchfork and a trash can with wheels. Can't fart him out of there. I'll check his teeth for gold fillings first.

Never been in a boardroom. But if you've got one, I work cheap.

I think both of the major parties have been taken over by extreme partisanship. The problem with the Republican Party is that the church has more influence than a blog.

The Christian Conservatives and Neo-Cons are loud and noisy - if the GOP loses a few elections, the party will shift back to the middle.

Of course, the Dems keep shooting themselves in the feet and letting douche bags like GWB to get elected.

I still wouldn't be a Republican, but I can get along perfectly well with the old-fashioned "do what you want, but keep taxes low and government small" Republicans.

I liked the more moderate party that existed before Ronald Reagan took office. In the 1976 election, the party supported abortion rights but only marginally.

They need to get away from the neo-cons and the religious zealots, that's for sure.
