When I used to work with disabled kids I made a point of wearing the most outrageous shoes and boots I could find because they were such a conversation starter. Once a girl who was a "Voluntary Mute" (could speak but for whatever reason doesn't) saw my mustard colored high heel hiking boots and exclaimed "Look at your shoes!" This was after 6 months of silence! I think these would have qualified as "Boogie Shoes".
