y = mx + b is the equation of a line in slope-intercept form.
m = slope and b equal y-intercept
If you have a line with equation in standard form, you can transform it to slope-intercept form.
3x - y = 7
y = 3x + 7 (slope = 3, y-intercept = 7)
16x + 49y = 125
y = -16x/49 + 125/49 (slope = -16/49, y-intercept = 125/49 or 2 27/49

slope is the number before the x and y-intercept is the last number
ex. y=5x+7
slope=5, y-int=7 or (0,7)

given a line:
y = mx+b
m = slope
b = y-intercept
given a line:
ax + by = c
-A/B = slope
c/b = y-intercept
given a line:
y - y1 = m(x-x1)
m = slope
y1 = y-intercept
