you haven't said what age range .. so I'll assume you're directing your questions to people in excess of 15 ?

try these: they are the ones my students most often misspell ..

parallel

personal

personnel

all right == (there's no such word as alright)

separate == can be pronounced sepee rate or sep uh rate)

pernicious

caroling

of course, if you're not American some spellings are different, such as carolling, centring, colouring, etc., etc.,
Americans tend to not use double letters
