Growing up I had 2 christmas's where my parents could acually afford presents for us , we always had 2 tables full of food but the presents were far n few between , birthdays I got nothing until I bought my own at age 16 after I got my job.
My 1st husband never bought me presents , I worked raised our 4 kids and bought presents for them , him and his family I didnt buy for my family.
My 2nd husband bought me a bbq last christmas that was my 1st present in our 8 year marriage , this year I'm getting nothing .
My children have never known a christmas in my house that didnt cost under 3000 dollars , we have 7 kid's and I dont buy for the in law's because the kids are more important. They wont suffer as I did.I cant spoil them but they dont get trashy 2 dollar shop toys or other things either.I start buying in Januray and lock things in cupboard's round the house so it isnt a huge rush in nov/dec.They love christmas .It gets harder as they get into different interests because of their age differences , I'm lucky this year all 7 are finally into psp's , ps2's , xbox so games galore under my tree with the dvd's lol.

The wifey got me something and I do not know what. all i want is a hundred dollar tool or there is a book I would like. I got her this laptop but is now sed by me and she is primary desktop user. Have not decided what else to give her. She loves the earings i gave her last year but is to afraid of loosing them. Beats the used cracked fish aquirium i gave her a few years ago for her bearded dragon (very nice wood stand and unless someone told you it were cracked you would not know and does not matter since is for a lizard that she loves). Just stay away from anything likely to collect dust.

We generally don't do gifts for one another on Christmas. Sometimes we'll do something like a small gift ... or massages, etc. But nothing expensive. No point in going broke for 1 day. It's not the point of Christmas anyway. In my opinion.

My fiance was supposed to get deployed on December 14 for at least 2 months, but we just found out last week that he isn't! That is the best christmas present I could ask for in my opinion...I get to spend it with him at home, safe and sound!
