Sounds like a good question for your imam.
If you want the opinion of a stranger, playing a video game (in general) is no more of a taboo than using a computer. That is all that a video game is, a program running on a computer.
The real test would be what game you are playing. I am sure that there are some video games that would be objectionable to Islam. I am also sure that you would know the difference between those that are objectionable and those that are not.

It depends on the intellectual level of the Imam.He can well declare it Haraam.

i have heard that games with nudity, (bad language maybe) and blood are but apart from that feel free
