I'm going to have to agree with you there. The eighties gave us so much in music! Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Madonna, Faith No More, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, Huey Lewis and The News, Culture Club, Metallica, Run DMC...omg, there's just too much awesomeness to list!
It also spawned new genres of music...big hair, metal, pop, hip-hop/rap, and new wave/ alternative. Look at all we have now because of how influential the eighties were as far as diverse sounds of music!
