i have my car in an impound lot and have the title still. Do I have to pay a towing fee or can I just give the towing company the title and walk away?

I agree with Joan H, especially because everyday adds more and more. Figure out the worth of the vehicle soon and either get it out or sign over the title. If you still are financing the car you should talk to someone who has good sense on the matter, if you aren't still paying and don't have alot of cash, you can take out a small secured or unsecured loan to get it out if its worth it.

If the impound fee is higher than the value of the car, that's what I would do. Personally, I think they are a bunch of leeches anyway.
