What is up with preps? In my 17 years I have been picked apart by every "clique" that I've come across. Yes, I know that me being Goth probibly has something to do with it, but why are they so judgemental? Why do they hate anyone and everyone that is different? Why do they look down upon people who don't have bleach-blonde hair, that don't have the annoying voice, and people who don't worship Paris Hilton and act stupid like they do. Does anyone here agree with me?

Honey it is just a sign of ignorance, judge a person by his phisical apperance, everybody is diferent and we cannot do something about it, we need to acept ourselves or anybody just like we are, and yes I agree with you.

They do these things to make themselves feel more important. See with the trivial prater that they can offer each other, they would get bored out of their minds. So, in answer to the inevitable misappropriated lives they must pick at their perceived flaws that everyone else has since NEVER EVER can they see their own flaws, since if they could they may be right their beside you wearing the trademark black.
Before you ask, or anyone for that matter, I was never picked on by anyone in school as I was a bully till I seen the error of my ways. I am not Goth, not prep, not nerd, not slacker/stoner, I am Just Me.

Mostly because a lot of them are too shallow to think deep. You'll find through out life that many people are quick to judge and scared of what is different. If they can't understand something, they fight it. Most people put every ounce of energy into fitting in and put all all their eggs in the basket of defining who they are by what others think. These people deep down are insecure but most will rarely show it.
They gain power by taking it from others. The worse they can make someone else feel, the better they feel about themselves.
You just have to realize that they aren't going to accept you or anyone who is obviously different from the socially or cosmetically. It's not because theyre bad people, they're just lost sheep who don't know any better. Show them Love and avoid reflecting their attitude back to them. Don't spend a lot of time on what they think because anyone of them and their group will be turned against the moment they do something to embarrass the group. Those aren't real friends if its a true clique.
The goal is to at least make them feel bad if they hurt you. Draw out their feelings. They will mature eventually and regret most of the things they've done, and chances are when they do, the people they've hurt won't be around to accept the apology.
Kill 'em with kindness and lead by example. Its the golden rule: "Do onto others as you will have done onto you". Not everyone plays by those rules, just the people in life that have a shot a long term happieness and fulfillment do.

It has been a long time since I was in High School (17 years to be exact) and nothing has changed. It is about the perception superiority and beauty that ultimately drives them to act like that. They honestly think that they are better than the others they go to school with.
Don't worry though, this will soon pass. When they go to college and get into the real world, they will see just how foolish and stupid they were. They will come to regret many of the mean spirited things that they have done and realize that they really don't have an identity. (After all, who can really identify with Paris Hilton... ugh)

I agree. Peopole are ignorant. That the way heir parents bought them up. They dont have any home training. Inore them. Dont feed into what they say. There the ones who look stupid. Yeah I agree with you. Whenever I get pissed off at the preps in my school, instead of shoving their face into the wall I just try to remenber that in 8 years there will be pregnant with their 3 child and working at McDonald's. (Well that or thinking of them getting blown up.) But really the stupid crap they are doing now, so that they can be "popular" or whatever is going to be useless in a couple of years. So why bother.

everyone first needs to realize that the 'preps' are just other people who have formed together as group simply cause they have common interest. hmm.. sound familiar? that's how every group there is comes to be. Typically preps like to wear little clothes, party and experiment with alcohol and drugs. Likewise jocks,goths, punks, and other groups (minus the religious group) like to do it also although not everyone in each group participates. And on one hand you are judging them just as much as they are judging you.

It's just part of being a teenager and the high school social constuct. Years from now you will and those others, will look back and see how silly it all was.
Unfortunately, you will also look back at your goth period and wonder what the heck you were thinking.

They are such shallow b**ches. Be proud that u can stand up to them, and most of all be proud you're not one of them.
