I breastfed all three of my daughters for 18+ months with no problem. My youngest was breastfed for 2 years before I weaned. It was a great bonding experience and I plan on breastfeeding this baby for as long as I have the others.
Good luck and don't be afraid to breastfeed longer than planned if you are comfortable with it.

With my first, 10.5 months. I had to wean when my milk dried out because i got pregnant.

With my second, 19 months.

This baby will be born in a few months, and I plan to breastfeed for at least a year. I am willing to go more than that if she wants to, though. I have to go back to school when she's 6 months old, though, so I don't know if we'll make it past a year. I don't plan on using formula, though. I never did with my other kids, either.

I breastfed my son for about 4-5 months. I was pumping full time because I had to go back to work and I just got exhausted and couldn't keep up. I regret stopping so early, and I've learned a lot more since then, so I plan on going longer with the next one.

Good job so far!

Like you, I planned on nursing for one year. I remember when I was pregnant, a friend told me that she wished she had nursed for 2 years (I thought she was out of her mind!).

Then my little one was born and around 12 months, all my friends w/ babies the same age were talking about how they were going to wean at a year. I remember thinking, "but they're just babies!"

I nursed my child for 2 years and 4 months. I was pregnant again and just felt "touched out."

My second baby nursed for almost 3 years (I think she was like 2 years and 10months old). I never could have predicted that I would have nursed for that long.

Those sweet baby eyes are looking up at you and you just fall in love. You never really notice how long those baby's become!! Happy nursing!

My wife breast feed until almost 3 1/2 months. The baby was eating every hour and my wife couldn't keep up with the demand. Now at 4 1/2 months my baby is eating 1 cup of food 3 times a day + a can of formula. To you women who are able to continue breast feeding the more power to you, and those who can't don't feel bad. That's why there is formula and baby food.Your child will still get what he/she needs to grow into a health individual.

My son is 13 months old and still going strong. My goal is to go at least to 2 years old, but I plan on doing child led weaning. I will let him decide when he is done.

My first I nursed for 6 months. I didn't know much about breastfeeding and did not have a lot of support, so I mistook a nursing strike for him self-weaning.

With my 5 year old I did good up until 10 months. He ate so much I couldn't keep up, so we did both formula and breast milk for about a month then stopped breast milk all together. It was really stressful when he needed more than I was making. I am pregnant again and plan on trying for a year again. I think what I will change is not let it stress me....they do make formula. I was so ate up with NO formula that it made it harder on me when I really would have only had to give him a bottle or two a day of formula and I could have done the rest. Just if the baby starts needing more than you can make keep some formula on hand so that you don't stress yourself.

Our baby is 15 months old and still nursing. I am not in a rush to wean her since I bring home every known virus and bacteria known to man. She has never been sick with the exception of pink eye when I had it last year.

My 2nd daughter turns 1 year next week. I'll keep going as long as I can. My original goal was one year and I am almost there!

My first daughter was 3 months premature and I pumped 3.5 months for her until my supply ran out.
