Do you start at the bottom and work your way to the top, or start at the top and work down?
Do you have a specific order you put things on the tree, like lights first, then tinsel, etc?

start at the top and go down, that's the best way. lights first of course, then garlands (i have some rustic wooden ones that i love) then ornaments. my tree is rustic/lodge/old fashioned. full of hand made ornaments and animal figures, things like that. ornaments i've saved for the past 35 years...

You should start at the top and work your way to the bottom. It is always easier to clean up the mess that way. Lights first. Never tinsel. Cats would like that WAY too much!

I will decorate my tree when I buy one. I pu the light on girst bottom and work up. I don't use tinsel because I have animals and they will eat it. I have glass ornaments, apple ornaments, the fancy ones and hallmark ornaments. I get a new one every year. I put the tree skirt on last so I can sweep all of the needles out from under the tree instead of vaccuming.

Alone, it's lights first, top to bottom, hang similar ornaments, one-of-a-kind ornaments next, then tinsel. If there's a long garland, it goes on after lights and before ornaments. Decorating with others it's more a free for all, after the lights. :)

We've had our ornaments for over 15 years. I start from the bottom and work my way up. Lights then tinsels.

Lights first, then the star at the top, the ornaments where ever we feel like it and finally the tinsel.

hi, nicely I decortate my Christmas tree each and every 365 days. I also have a sort of wood that have already got the lights fixtures on them so I dont could conflict with putting them on. Then I take out all my decorations and adorns. I regularly fill the entire tree each and every 365 days with adorns that I even have had on condition that i became into 2 years previous. I do purchase a number of new adorns each and every 365 days however. often times i discover some truly stylish ones and often times i discover ones to signify being homestead for the vacations. customarily, I merely beautify it to how i think will make that Christmas greater significant!!!!!

I was allocated to dress the Xmas tree in our office. But I've been living in Israel for the past 30 years and they don't 'do' Xmas trees there. But from what I could remember as a kid...I accepted with honour and took it on...Then as I began... everyone 'booed' me...
Nowadays its all colour coordinated, tinsel goes close to the trunk, wound round, lights next (who had lites only posh people had lites)... then other stringy things... THEN come the balls...only red and silver ones. THEN the bows on the end of each branch... THEN the Lacy bits of silver.... Why does it have to be so organized and commercial? we used to make our own decorations out of tin foil and cutouts... chocolate Santa figures... and a Cindy or Tressy doll (UK Barbie equivalent) stuck atop with a pair of homemade wings and sellotape wrapped round her legs...My Mum always said it looked lovely!!!!
