Hello.
I'm planning to have Breast Reduction surgery when I'm eighteen (sixteen at the moment) -- can anyone tell me what it's like? How long recovery was for you, and how quickly the scars fade (and what you may have used on them to make them fade quicker), etc. (naturally, I'd opt for the vertical scar technique). I'm a 30E now, and would love to be a B cup, so I'm particularly interested in hearing from women who went down to a B.

By the way, I'm 4'11" with a small frame, I actually hunch forward when I walk, get shoulder pain after only a few hours whenever I wear a bra, and have quite a lot of back pain (If I do any task where I have to lean forward, even if only slightly, the pain is hell after a few minutes), and although I'll love being able to wear nicer tops etc., the surgery is not for cosmetic benefit, so I don't need a lecture! :)

Thank you all very much for your time.

I had it Feb 2006 and I do not regret it one bit.

I was out of work for two weeks (longer if you are in a physically active job) and my incisions were fully closed around three months... My scars are barely noticeable (Mederma and Scarguard helped a lot).

I went from a 38J to a 38C. I had the anchor incision done.

Check out this site, it has a ton of information for you!

I also have a "surgery story" if you would like to read it send me your email address.

Well, like any surgery it has it's risks but everyone I have spoken too has absoltely no regrets after having it done. If you breasts are so large that it's uncomfortable to do anything, including excercise and you are getting unwanted attention I would suggest it! You may be much happier person afterwards...I have a friend who had this procedure and she says it was the best decision she'd ever made in her life! :)

My friend was reduced to half her breast size and ended with a 38DD. I don't know how much they can take at once. She is having a second surgery 4yrs after the first (this year) because she has now lost weight (she was obese) and the doctors say her body is ready.
She said it was very sore for the first few days and got better rather quickly. She said it was well worth it.
