you do it at separate times first insert 0 for x to find the y-intercept and insert 0 for y to find the x-intercept

For the x-intercept, let y=0
4x-0=10
4x=10
x=10/4=5/2
so the x-intercept is 5/2

For the y-intercept, let x=0
4(0)-y=10
-y=10
y=-10
so the y-intercept is -10

ok, so to find the x intercept u wud plug in the "y" which is 0 and solve for x. so...

4x - y = 10
4x - (0) = 10
4x = 10 now divide by 4
x = 10/4
x = 2.5

now do the same thing for the y intercept, so plug in the x.

4x - y = 10
4(0) - y = 10
-y = 10
now multiply by -1 to make the y positve ( u dont want a negative variable in ur solution)

-1(-y = 10)
y = -10
so the x and y intercepts are x = 2.5 and y = -10 or... (2.5, 0) and (0,-10)

The x intercept is what y = when x = 0.

4(0) - y = 10

y = -10 is the x intercept.

4x - (0) = 10

4x = 10
x = 10/4 = 2.5 is the y intercept.

4x-y=10

forget about x and y being 0

the y-intercept is when x=0

-y=10

y= -10

the x intercept is when y=0

4x=10

x=10/4

X-intercept:

Let Y = 0
4x - 0 = 10

So x = 2.5

Y-intercept:

Let X = 0
0 - y = 10

So y = -10

what the hell are you doing with x = 0 and y = 0? plug in 0 for x and solve for y, and you get y = -10. that's your y intercept (0,-10). then do the same for y to solve for x.

To find the x-intercept, you solve for y=0. For the y, you set x=0. SO:

X-intercept: 4x = 10
Y-intercept: -y = 10

To find the intercepts, first let x=0 and solve for y (i.e., y=-10), and then let y=0 and solve for x (i.e., x=10/4)
