I mean, with the right reasons, and the right person, it could be a beautiful thing. Plus, it greatly contributes to human existence, and it's a big part of our society.

So, why is sex such a taboo subject to talk about? What makes it so wrong and uncomfortable?

Taboo to whom? . . . you? Sex is a GREAT subject!
I feel sex is a fascinating subject and is one of the basic themes of our genetic heritage. Don't most people think they're really knowledgeable and wise on this subject? And why are people lousy or great lovers?

What would you like to know?

No, we can talk abt sex but with suitable good way,

But what is the reason of Sex?? I mean why God create it ??

Main reason , and its the truth , is to have kids ,
The second reason is to enjoy sex feelings with ur partner,

Why sex is such a taboo?? its not a taboo, but in the main 3 religions (Jewish - Christianity - Islam) , its forbidden to have sex except with ur wife or with ur husband,
So maybe that's why some people feel its bad to talk abt sex ,

After all , that's my opinion , maybe right , maybe wrong ,

Wish u all the best,

generally speaking there is a lot of different ways to look at this. From an evolutionary biological perspective sex is probably the most important fundamental concept in our evolution. Without sex we do not exist. However from a more sociological approach, we have to look at our cultural underpinning. We have been taught that sex is dirty and dirty things are inappropriate. Consider that we have worked so hard to keep our children clean, that is free from dirt, that children are becoming overly sensitive to bacteria normally found in dirt. Sex is considered dirty when it is brought in to the conversation in a place it does not belong. Just like dirt is merely soil that's not where it's supposed to be. In America we been taught that sex is something reserved for the bedroom and due to the Christian and biblical influences it is something prohibited except under very specific circumstances such as in marriage, in the missionary position, in the bedroom, in the dark, and while were still young. In general we been trained to be embarrassed when talking about sex.

The problem lies in the assumption that people nowadays always have sex for the WRONG reason, with the WRONG person.

This is silly, of course. We should be able to trust each other to make the right decisions on our own. We should NOT be avoiding the topic in the hopes that censorship will protect our closest loves. If someone is intent on doing something, there is no stopping him or her. We should be more open and willing to share advice to each other.

After all...if sex is a big part of our society, why shouldn't we strive to turn it into a positive thing?

I don't think it's wrong when you are talking about sex with someone you love and want to have sex with but when a guy you are not interested in wants to talk about sex it's just not a subject I want to open up with. First off, it's no ones business what my sexual habits are, if I don't think they need to know. And, the last thing I would want is some creepy guy pressuring me to talk about my favorite sexcapades.

*gag* that is such a turn off.

Talking to your partner, the person you love, or are married to is completely different and it depends upon the shyness of each person. I don't think talking about sex is taboo there is just a certain time and place for such talk and if you're a girl in a group of guys that are friends, it's just not a very smart idea.

Some people are uncomfortable talking about sex, because they are afraid to express their opinions. Some people are so strict on what others say, that they lecture other people in the conversation. Someone saying something about how they feel, has a chance of getting lectured from someone else who doesn't like what they said. This is why people are uncomfortable talking about sex.

Its not wrong but sometimes it is uncomfortable. We have a hard time talking about different sex things because it makes us feel uncomfortable. Its not something we want everyone knowing. Its something that is usually private between one person and another person who love each other a lot and want to make love.

Because its a private act of intamacy with someone you love. Also I think allot of people are subconscioes about the way there body's or worried about how they perform.Have you ever been afraid to kiss someone? or worried about getting rejected? Ithink its something like that. Some guys don't want girls to know that it's all they think about and most girls don't want to be percieved as sluts.Hope this helped
