Make y the subject of these equations
(ie y =x-5). The cooeficient of x is the gradient. If you make x = 0, that'll give you the y-intercept.

y = mx + b; m is the slope (gradient) y intercept is b

y = -x + 5, m=-1, b=5
y = 2x - 4, m=2,b=-4
y = -1/4x + 2, m = -1/4, b=2
