There really isn't a set date. Sure there's the 'society approved' time but really? If you can sit there and imagine waking up next to this person and this person only for the rest of your life? Then you can get engaged.

I was dating a very nice lady for a while, but she and I never got engaged. She has since left me to go be with someone else. :(

1 year and 3 months. Which I thought was a little soon. But we've been married since August 05 and things are still okay.

8 months, but now we've been together for nearly 4 years and we still haven't set a date. We know we want to be together forever, but we want to fix our credit and be financially stable before we rush into anything...
