When i memorize lines for a play i read one page until i can recite it without looking. read it with the emotion and voice u will be using in the play. It will help U develop ur characters emotions while u learn the script. It will also help if u can get someone else to read the other characters lines. U don't just need to learn ur lines u also need to learn ur cues.

It does help, memorising them one at a time. Also memorise the lines before yours as well, so you know what your cue is!

Memorize two lines as you write them down. The more senses you use the better. It sticks with you more. Then when you feel good about that do it in front of the mirror and you'll be using another sense...that is my advice. Also, use a friend or family to practice on. Good luck, congrats!!! Miss Mary

This is a technique I use and that works really well for me. Start as early as you can. You need to know your lines like the back of your hand. Once you know them, really know them, all you should have to do is open your mouth and they'll just come pouring out. I'm exaggerating of course, but I think you get the point. Good luck to you!

Try reading them aloud over and over. (Get someoneelse to read you your cues.) If you attend a church that uses the same prayers, creed, etc., week after week, you can probably recite all the congregation' s part from memory. It's the same principle.
