take the second and flip it over and times it instead of dividing
x^2/5 *5/x^7
5x^2/5x^7
Simply
1/x^5
Or dividing by common base leave them out and divide the first terms
x^2/x^7
1/x^5

When dividing with a common base, subtract exponents. 2/5-7/5 = -1
so x^/-1 or 1/x

lol... been many years since I have seen that "Greek". As I read the answers of diversity here, I saw one that was in agreement with the first. What I did learn in tackling math problems (back in the day), was that your answer would be correct and verifiable so as fact, when you apply the "rules" to the problem being solved. This attitude in solving math problems can also be applied to "life lessons", where problems need to be solve, look at the rules. Morrow... know the rules and apply them in your quest for answers.

I think you would subtract the exponents, but I'm not sure. Sorry! I bet that you could find the answer, or how to do it by searching on google. Or better yet, ask your teacher or a classmate. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
