Shortage in the blood supply. Not enough people donate and supllies become critically low at times.

It could save millions in money and time. As it is now, the blood supply depends entirely on donations and the amount of time and money it takes to collect it.

Natural (donated) blood doesn't "keep" very long.
Natural blood is prone to comtamination with drugs and viruses.
