Overall they have tried it and it does not work. The temperment of the zebra is not something that someone can work with when it comes to riding them.

There are many people who keep zebra on their farms or as "pets". But riding them just do not work.

Domesticate? No. Zebras are undomesticatable, just ask the ancient Egyptians and other Afrticans. Only certain animals can be domesticated (that means dependent on humans for survival), like cows and horses. Tameable, yes. It is possible to tame a zebra, with careful training, as they are quite aggressive and ornery. They bite a lot.

It is possible, but statistically insignificant in amount of zebras that you could train to ride. Choose you zebra carefully, or breed for positive characteristics. It has been done on occasion.

Over time you can domesticate anything. By time I mean generations of selective breeding, which can often have unexpected consequences on the health of the animal. But from everything I've read Zebras are really mean so you wouldn't really be able to go out and tame one like you could a wild horse.

It has been done, but it's very rare. People in Africa use horses, donkeys, and mules....I never saw anyone riding a zebra outside of a circus.

Yes, you can tame a zebra. If you hand-reared one, like any animal, it would become a lot more tame than one you picked from the wild (which are nasty critters).

They're not as strong as the horses bred through generations for breeding though so I wouldn't recommend trying it.
