Is this possible for international hockey competitions? Does the IIHF allow this?

Under IIHF rules, an individual can not be both a player and a member of management.

In the NHL, an individual can be a player and an assistant coach, but can not be head coach or higher and still play.

I don't know the complete rules for the IIHF but I cannot see why not but why would someone spread themselvs so thin?

What inspires this question? Thinking a Pavel Bure comeback?

no he cant he'll have to retire to be a manager.
