I bet it's the Nano. It's the cheapest iPod that has a screen, and it's capacities (2GB - 8GB through the years) is more than enough for most people. In my family alone, we've gone through 6 or 7 iPod Nanos/Minis. I've had every generation of them and love them! The second most popular is probably the video or Classic as they call it now.

Now that the Ipod Touch is out it is going to be the most popular I bet because it's a touch screen.
