I'm sorry but I think tater salad is disgusting. Large chunks of cold potatoes with mayonnaise and other stuff doesn't sound very appealing, but my mother-in-law makes it for every occasion. On the other hand, hot crispy tots are awesome. I especially like tater tot casserole.
