Alright, here's the deal. My husband is Mexican, our last name is Ruiz. We've both decided that we like classic English names. Our choices so far are.
Dahlia Marie
Lillian Jude
Stella Paisley
Joshua Benton
Do these last names sound strange with the last name, Ruiz? I didn't have any problems with it before, but I was talking to my mom about it the other day and she said they sounded weird. What do you think??

No, I think they sound fine with Ruiz! I especially like Dahlia and Stella.
You picked nice names! Don't listen to other people about your baby names, someone is always going to say something that makes you doubt yourself. Just worry about what you and your husband like!

I love Stella Paisley Ruiz. Is Stella Ruiz a bit unusual? Maybe. But there's certainly no rule that says the first name and last name must be derived from the same ethnic roots - I know a Sean Kukowski.
In fact, I think there's something quite interesting about a Josh Ruiz - Joshua Benton Ruiz is another great choice.

I like Dahlia Marie Ruiz and Joshua Benton Ruiz... The Ruiz won't sound bad trust me!

Dahlia and Stella are my faves! gorgeous names, they sound great with Ruiz!
I think Joshua Benton needs some work. I think Joshua is too long of a name for Ruiz. Benton actually sounds better with your last name in my opinion! Congrats!

I really like your names! My favorites are Stella and Dahlia...I'm not a big fan of Joshua because it seems like everyone uses that name...but its all your decision.
