Of course it's disrespectful...IMO... BUT anymore you cannot count on anyone to do the right thing. NOW everyone is all about personal freedom and calling in the ACLU on a whim. SO, all I can say it that this nation was built on the ideal of freedom for all and if so many choose to show disrespect for that ideal instead of honoring it... then they are just exercising those freedoms in the most selfish way they know how... in the end it is their choice... and in the end it is neither really happy or sad... it just is.

P.S.- No, The Pledge of Allegiance is not a religion, but it does profess allegiance to "One nation under God", and not everyone ascribes to that belief. I find it more disrespectful to stand and pretend to believe in something that you don't believe in. I find it patriotic for people to stand and state the pledge with true belief and gusto, rather than just reciting something out of habit and expectation when they don't even know what it means.

actually its illegal to make people do the pledge because some people dont believe in the religion aka dont believe in the phrase "under GOD"
