I was in Vegas in 1999, and it was awesome. I didn't do any gambling because I wasn't old enough. My wife, two friends, and I were camping across the country and we were heading back home to Chicago from LA when we stopped there at 2:15AM and got married at a drive-thru (it was on a whim). After that, we had to drive about 1-2 hours north of Las Vegas to get to the nearest campgrounds. Being the 4th of July, by the time we got there, there were no spots left, so we had to spend our first night together as a married couple sleeping in our car on the side of a desert mountain road. However, being so cramped, we got into an argument over leg room, so I left the car and slept on the ground outside. I'm from Chicago, and didn't consider this at the time, but I'm lucky there were no rattlesnakes. The next day, we head back to Vegas to continue our camping trip. We were heading toward the Grand Canyon, but as soon as we got to Vegas, my car broke down. I pulled off at the nearest exit and right at the opposite side of the off-ramp is a church, and there are people there selling fireworks to raise funds. I park there, walk to the nearest payphone & call my dad for advice about the car. Long story short, two female ministers from the church come and talk to us, and after a while, they invite us to stay at their house while I work on my car.
The first night, we slept outside, poolside on their covered patio. The second night, they let my wife and I sleep in THEIR bed, with an understanding that we would probably be consummating our marriage (turns out they were a lesbian couple). Not only that, but one of them knew more about cars than me and my dad combined and helped me get my car fixed by the 3rd night. We left the next morning and never saw them again.

I have! At night it's great going through all the casinos. The casino builders go all out and to take you to other times and places. Vegas has so many shows. The hotels also help you get deals and give you info on the best shows! If you're a party animal they have great clubs! It's like an adult Disney World..lol
However if you go with family Vegas is also packed with things for the children. They have water parks to enjoy in the warm weather, other amusements parks for the kids to go on rides and don't let me forget the buffets! I have three kids and they absolutely love it!
I only recommend not to take the kids to the strip (main street with all the casinos). The sidewalks are covered with questionable fliers for the kids to be looking at.
