Distilled water is made through the process of distillation, which removes impurities by evaporating the water into steam, then condensing the steam. Since the impurities do not evaporate, the condensed steam is pure water.

Most bottled water is not distilled, but is instead filtered, which is another method of removing impurities, and much cheaper.

The snake will not notice the difference unless he reads the fine print on the label. Chances are, tap water would be fine, too.

Distilled is slightly different. It has all the minerals taken out of it. Distilled is mainly used as a sanitizing type of water. Best to get the regular stuff and safe the snake an unwise mineral deficiency.

Some bottled waters add minerals and salt to enhance the flavor of the water. Read the ingredients on the bottle.

Distilled water is "pure" water... as pure as the process and the source allows.

I don't know what the needs for a snake is, but if it can handle minerals then it should be fine.

There is a big difference between bottled and distilled. Are both ok for your snake. Yes. (but don't put perrier or other stuff like that in his bowl, he won't know the difference and some are carbonated (acidic).
