I don't mind either, but I think that since there are so many coloured avatars and images in the web and everywhere nowdays a really nice black and white avatar may stand out as being different and more old fashioned in a nice way.
It's a bit like a nice black and white photograph or old film in black and white that has a certain quaint and nostalgic appeal.
Anyway your avatar is nice because is moderately coloured. It's a bit like an old black and white photograph that has been coloured by hand.

Well if your looking for artistic expression and high definition. B&W is the way to go. Not saying that color cannot give artistic expression, just that B&W has a higher definition in shades of grey and is the standard used in art.

i think of Brown could be truly effective. it may interest my memory Of My Nut stash And Make Me Hungry Tho. yet provide up effective. it would Make Me sense Coasy & Homey, Cuz it may characterize the Bark of My homestead-Tree.
