The tightest and most unfriendly people in Britain.
From personal experience I have never had any problems with Welsh and Irish.
The English are more complicated. South of Manchester or Yorkshire in the North and East of Hampshireinthe South, I have found the people to be so conceited and basically up their own backsides. The English in the rest of the country tend to be a very friendly and easy going race.

Sorry guys but Londoners are so fool of themselves that they really do just get on your nerves. the worst part is that they don`t even know it. I would compare them to the chiold who turns up at your childs party and procedes to bore evryone else by telling you how their parents earn so much more money and have a better car/house etc.

Retox: You are reciting another lie sent out by the London Governement of the UK. The area that receives most in subsidies in the UK is London. If you had ever been to Scotland you would realise it is not as finanacially wealthy as the South East of England. Look at all the lasrge projects that mponey gets wasted on in the London area and ask yourself, why don`t other areas of the UK see this sort of investment?

Soory Paul, didn`t mean to include the Brummies in with the Londoners. My mistake.

Totally accurate assessment.
People from the North of England would say exactly the same. Hey let the Brummies in here - nothing wrong with them

seems to me it is purely existence in the British Isles. Scottish and English animosity. Northern England as against Southern England. Why no longer South London/North London opposition? Even in South London, there is opposition between which section is extra advantageous. Brixton's extra advantageous. No. Peckham's extra advantageous. it is weird and wonderful. there is extra to existence than considered one of those petty squabbling notwithstanding it variety of feels to maintain human beings occupied. As a south Londoner who moved north of the river a on an identical time as in the past, it is not some thing i've got ever in my view skilled and that i like north London, besides the reality that I confess to somewhat sigh of entertainment as quickly as I come again south of the river considering is 'domicile'. it is purely a tribal concern.

I live in south east England Essex to be precise and can honestly say that none of the people are 'conceited' or 'up their own back sides' you appear to be generalizing this could be because you've met some South Eastoners who are like this and because they are like it you've come to think everyone must be like this which is not true
being someone from the south east i have only found people from the same area to be overly friendly and always willing to help others

Travel the world like I have and you notice that people upcountry never have a good word to say about thnose who live in their capital city. French hate Parisians, Mongolians don't liike them from Ulan Bator etc etc. I actually come from London. Born there and lived there for 30 years I moved to the North of England because it is more lay-back and friendly. Moved from there to Co Monaghan, Ireland because it's even more friendly and easy going. Here in Ireland I'm not keen on Dubliners because I find them a little bit stand-offish, but hey it's just gone full-circle!
I think every place in every country has it's own culture. When I meet a Londoner we 'click' immediately whereas others would find them conceited perhaps. It's all about finding somewhere you like and adjusting to the 'ways' or moving to somewhere you like better.
Fatima. Don't waste any time getting over here you'll love it. Write to me and I'll tell you whatever you'de like to know!

Some parts of London are and the south have been in some pubs and the only person that you talk to is the barmaid when asking for another pint but have found the pub down the road different and friendly many times.
the worse place for pubs is "sorry" but North Wales once they hear you speak English the waffle on in Welsh

Londoners have stressful jobs, not just the job they do, but the travelling in and out of the city is bad enough, so the odd people you have met from this part of the country may have been having a bad day, infact, i know alot of Londoners and people from the South East and they are very charitable and friendly, they also care about themselves and each other. Every area has good and bad, i bet you've got lots of them where you live too. Maybe it was your attitude that put them into that mood.

I'm from the South East and me and my mates are always friendly and are always getting rounds of beers in, giving rollups and fags to strangers and spare change if asked correctly by beggars. Except for Big Andy who is a bit tight!

Yep yep yep.
My cousins in Ireland don't shut up.
When you pass someone in the street they say hello.
On the bus the person you sit next to says hello.
Even the Irish dude (that looked like a leprochaun :) on the plane sitting next to us yapped away). I love the Irish.
When you sit next to someone on the bus in London they glare at you. When they bump into you they grunt sorry/ glare at you like it was your fault.
They are the most friendly in shops I think- because if they aren't they are fired.
That is why I am hoping to go to uni in Ireland and live there forever :). I am 5/8 Irish :) :).
Down South they people are they same as the Irish also :).

I'm a Londoner. I was born, live and work in London. If you're another narrow-minded Northern/Welsh/Scottish ponce expecting another handout, you can go home to yer mummy. If you can't handle London that's your loss, go back to yer ferret.

I am neither tight nor unfriendly & I'm in the South East.
Edit - I went to a party last night & the only miserable person there was the one & only northener. The most skinflint boyfriend I ever had was northener. But it would be ridiculous for me to judge all northeners as the same just as it's ridiculous to say all southerners are tight & unfriendly. You've obviously never been to Sussex, lol!
