We stored them last year and they must have been damp and I have washed several times but can't get that smell out.

Try Fabreeze, that stuff works great. If it doesn't work on the musty smell, you may have to take them to a cleaners. Store the jackets in air tight bags if you can't keep them in a dry place.

Unfortunately, once that smell permeates a fabric, it's often there forever. Musty equals mold! Mold has permeated the fibers of the cloth and anything that would take the odor out would also undoubtedly ruin the jacket. You may just want to chuck the jacket and buy something new.
