Here are the basics:
Buffet: $1 or $2 a person
Sit-down restaurant - 15% to 20% or so
Cocktail waitress: $1 a drink every time - if you're winning, tip a little more, and I always tip more on my first round if I'm planning on being there a while
Bartender at a walk up bar: $1 a drink each round, if you plan on repeat trips - two or three bucks a drink on the first round so he or she remembers you
Hotel bellman - $1 to $2 a bag
Valet - $5 when you pick up your car, more if they stow your bags or packages into the trunk for you
Hotel housekeeping: $2 to $5 a day - leave it every day instead of at the end
Casino cage or slot attendant: 3-5% of your winnings
Card dealer or roulette croupier - a chip if you win, or a percentage at the end of play
Hotel conceirge - anywhere from $5 for getting you a manicure appointment to $50 or more for getting you tickets to that sold-out show or something

Tip based on your means, your mood, and your service. If I'm at a bar, I usually tip $2 a drink, only less if I don't plan on going back to it, but never less than a dollar. Gambling depends on where you're gambling, what you're playing, etc. If you're at a slot machine, $2 a drink is probably the minimum I would tip, but you could get away with $1. Remember you want them to return frequently usually. At tables, I tip $3 to $5 a drink, especially at higher stakes tables. I was gambling at the Pussycat Doll lounge in Caesar's Palace and I tipped $5 a drink (I was also betting $25 minimum a hand) and I never got to the bottom of a cocktail before my next one was out there. The way the girls were acting, I was probably a pretty good tipper. Amazingly, one of them told me that the people who gamble $500 or more a hand are often very lousy tippers. They seemed to appreciate it, and the service was good, so I didn't mind. As a rule, I would say your minimum tip should never fall below 1/5 of the minimum bet of the table you're sitting at, and never less that $1... and even if you want to tip as low as $1, maybe tip $2 every other drink, or $5 every third drink... this should ensure return service.
For food, 20% is probably my norm, although I will cut it down if the service is terrible. For a cab ride between $10 and $20, I would usually tip $5. For handling my luggage (loading/unloading out of cab) by hotel employees, no less than $5. I don't usually tip the people outside of the casinos who hail the cabs, and they don't seem to expect it.

I reside 50 miles from Vegas, I moved right here five years in the past, and to these days I am nonetheless awed after we force over the mountain and Sin City comes into view. It's like being transported into the twilight zone. Don't make plans....wait till you get right here....there's soooo so much to look and do. But a have got to is the craps desk on the Imperial Palace, you might grow to be rubbing shoulders with superstar's taking pictures, and YELLING "tough 8" You can get a Limo for eighty dollars an hour, break up four methods no longer unhealthy in any respect! Then you might come right here to Pahrump and, consult with the authorized brothels and get a Tshirt. Remember, what occurs in Vegas remains in Vegas. What occurs in Pahrump is in every single place the town in round in round five mins! Have a first-rate time!

It always depends on the service you are receiving. Normally between 17 and 18%, but there is a huge difference between great service and poor service. I have been to places that the service was so wonderful that I have put out 25%, and so poor that I just left a handful of change on the table.
