There are these little white bugs in my 2 gallon betta tank. He's by himself and the bugs are very small and somtimes rest on the top of the water. Other times they are on the tank glass or on my betta. I don't think they are hurting betta, but i'd just like to know what they are, any clue?

Sounds like you've got a planaria outbreak.

This link should help:

These bugs could be one of several freshwater crustaceans that easily infect tanks. I don't know which kind they are without a picture, but most are completely harmless. Lots of times they'll come in on new aquarium plants. Scoop up what you can with a net. Then do a good water change and gravel sweep and they should go away.

I had little white worms with my bettas (females). I googled it and it turned out to be some kind of parasite but they don't harm your fish, they come from over-feeding and its hard to get them out. I changed all my water, boiled the gravel (for about 10 min) reduced my gravel to about 1/4 of an inch (its best to have it as thin as possible since all the food and waste collects in there). I also added aquarium salt to my tank. after that i saw only one of these worms and that was it. i guess it was on my fish.... but i haven't had any problems with that anymore.

remember not to over feed. i read that a fish's stomach is about as big as its eye. so they dont need much...

i don't know if you saw worms or something else. but all of the above should be helpful.

good luck!
