My parents used to buy a bunch of small gifts (a small toy, underwear, socks, a book) and set them under the tree about 8 days from Christmas. But mom wrote a tiny number somewhere on the wrapping paper. Then after dinner one of my folks would say "How about looking for #5?" I'd scurry to the tree and look them over hunting for #5, and I'd get to open it. Then on Christmas Eve we'd go to my maternal grandparents, and "Santa" came the next day with The Big Gift and filled my stocking. Then we'd go to my paternal grandparents for dinner.

Those were the good ol' days.

This was back on 97 would be the last traditions I had with my family. Christmas Eve my family would to church and after that we go around and look at christmas lights that people had up. Then we went home and went to bed. In the morning ate breakfast and read a story from a bible.. And unwrap the gifts.. then would go to my grandma house to eat supper and then unwrap gifts there. 97 was the last year we did at my grandma because that was last christmas my cousin was there. She past away 2 days after thanksgiving in 98. I have two on my own now. And hoping to start one soon with them..

We have dinner, open gifts from the family on Christmas Eve, go to the candlelight service at church. On Christmas morning, have breakfast and then we open gifts from Santa (just a family tradition that my parents have kept) with my nieces.

We always get the tree and decorate it together, and then watch our favorite Christmas movie (National Lampoons Christmas Vacation) and throughout December we watch tons of Christmas movies and drink hot cocoa and stuff
