God, the creator of all that is, is a hypothetical person and so satisfies the who. To know God is to live and without life there is nothing so to know God gives meaning to everything. We can not know what all that meaning is but then, "It's not what you know." that counts.

Without any reference to any philosophical or scientific proof or lack thereof the fact that a mental concept such as A HIGHER CAUSE THAN I, such as God, can satisfy a persons need for meaning, is proof sufficient.

I also believe in Santa Claus..

Who says things have to have meaning? We expect them to, but what if it's all just collective experience or shaping your soul? I guess that would still define meaning, but most of us think of "meaning" as what is the "Answer" and we want the answer to make sense like 1+1=2, but in reality, the answer is more like 1+1=math.
