I've heard a lot of different what not about the difference in these cards but not once have i seen a conclusions to which is better, im just looking for the answer and why. I know the 3870 have 320 sp and i believe the xfx 94, but what other things should i be looking for before i purchase either or?

Extra details, Ive built my own rigs so I know the ropes, its just I don't study the details of how a graphics card works. Usually onboard memory is what you have to worry about the least if im remembering, mainly the pixel pipelines and clock speeds? keep in mind I did say the 312 model

And yes, I do use it for gaming. I currently own a 8600 gts superclocked but its just not enough, and im sure my system can handle it, everything that was purchased has been purchased recently(4th build)

A. You must look for what ports yopur moniter uses and if they have it
B. Check there specifications rigourously and you can usualy tell which is better from the MB of the card so a 512 would be worse than a 764MB card
C. From A Quick Nvidia Seems To Have The More Punch With The GTS Being At 640MB And The ATI Being At 512 But It Would Really Depend On What You Want
D.One Of The Most Important Things Can Your PC Mainly Mother Board Actually Take It As Its All Good Having A Really Good Graphics Card But With A Pants MotherBoard Its Worthless
E.THE MOST IMPORTANT THING....Are You Going To Be Using The Graphics Card Or Are You Just Using It For Word etc As If You Are Turn Around Now.

What ever one will work in the computer will be good LOL, make sure you know about pci, and pci-express, its a good idea, but you may all ready know about it
