Since I have rode a Harley for 35 years, and they call Harleys "hawgs", my friends have always bought me pigs for presents. My pig collection was overflowing, so I thought I would change it and make it more difficult by saying only Santa Claus Pigs. It is amazing how many of those I have received. I am like you and try to write the year and name on the bottom of each one.

I collect vintage and antique Santas, vintage and antique snowmen, and vintage and antique glass ornaments, as well as new glass ornaments. Some of them hung on my parents' tree when I was just a kid, so I know some of them are at least 70 yrs old. I do have some that are much older, dating to the late 1800's. A friend, who collects everything Christmas, at a Christmas open house we had one year, asked me where I got some "antique" snowmen ornaments she lusted after, and I had to tell her that I bought them when I first got married, and I wore the 'new" off of them myself!
We also collect ornaments when we go on vacation, as memories of the fun we had, and always write the date and place on them somewhere.
I also have ornaments that my kids made when they were in grade school, and all the ornaments I made when I was young and poor! Plus all the handmade ones from over the years. Our Christmas tree is a tree of memories, and really loaded!
Krissy, in spite of the fact that we only live 20 miles from Precious Moments, and have been there many times to look at the Christmas lights, I dont have one single ornament from there! They are cute, tho.

I try to buy one new ornament each year for my old fashioned
tree. I haven't this year so far. And I'm running out of
time. I try to find something that looks homespun or handmade. And I also collect one of a kind ornaments with
Santa in them or individual Santas. I have one that is a cow-
boy with a cowboy hat and boots and jeans. It's heavier and I
have to put it on a thicker branch, or it pulls the flimsy ones
over. Hubby has told me, he's going to paint a big Santa
face on our front window this year. So that will be a first
Christmas to have a window painting. He does this for extra
money this time of the year for some small businesses. So
I think it will be neat to have one on our window too. Even
tho hardly anyone will see it, since we live in an end apart-
ment. But, we'll have it to give us some cheer anyway.

I like snowmen. I don't really collect them, but I buy things with snowmen on them and others give me gifts with them too. I'm trying to cut back on knick knacks, so I try to get something I can use, when I get a snowman theme now. Today I bought a little rug with Snowmen on them at the dollar store. I'll use it until it's worn, like I did the Easter one and then give it to the cats to lay on until it falls apart.
