I was JUST about to post your question!
I've heard many numerous rumors that it works. You can get them basically anywhere, such as toys r us. I am about to get one. But you MUST be careful. They are VERY dangerous. You must always say goodbye when you are done talking to a spirit. But even if you say goodbye you will still not be all the way protected against evil spirits. It is still half-way open to a new dimension of spirits. I'd type in ouija boards on google and read as many tips as possible before getting one. My friends have them, and they say they work. Just concentrate very hard.

like most other occult phenomenon, the ouiji board is neither good nor evil. The operator of the board, on the other hand, may colour the results of the session with either good or evil, based on their motivations. Further, there is a belief among many that the "spirit(s)" evoked by the operator of the board may take over the mind of the operator, and become malevolant forces in their life. This risk appears highest in individuals with a tendency to hysteria. Whether this is actually a function of the board, an action by a disincarnate "spirit", or a symptom of hysteria is up for speculation. The board provides an opportunity for some interesting experimentation in the world of the mystics, but seems a bit old fashioned and "unscientific" for those who might have the desire to investigate. Most of the literature on investigation of mediumship using the board was done in the late 1800's by the Psychical Society in England, and the Russian Acadamy of Science. Highly political witchhunt, but interesting reading. The conclusions of that era are subject to a lot of speculation, and lack any definative conclusions.
If you choose to pursue the board, it would be wise for you to do so with the accompaniment of wise counsel. Remeber your garlic.

Here is an experience I had. I am not lying. I do not even believe in things like ouiji bourds, but this is what happened to me:

I was in grade 5, at a friend's birthday party, and of course the ouiji board came out. When it was my turn to ask a question, I asked "what will the initials of my first boyfriend and when will we start going out" The board gave me the initials, and a date 5 years into the future. The initials matched those of a nerdy guy in my class, so I discredited the board and forgot completely about the incident.
3 years later I had moved to another city. 2 years after that I started going out with my first boyfriend. It wasn't until after we had broken up that I remembered what had happened at that party, and yes, his initials were the ones the ouiji board pointed to.

I am being completely honest, this actually happened. I don't know if it was a coincidence, my own mind subconsciously remembering and falling for a guy with those initials, some sort of tapping into future events, or a brush with some sort of other sort of power.

When I remembered this, my cousin and I got ahold of a ouiji board to test it again. It gave me the correct initials of a guy I had just met but had no idea of his last name. It then told me to beware another set of initials...soon after I was going out with this new guy, and unbelievabley the initials were those of another girl that had a crush on him (that I didn't even know about when my cousin and I tried the ouiji board.)

I cannot explain either of these experiences, but they actually happened. I don't really have an opinion on how.

I'm a believer. I tried it with some friends once when I was thirteen. I found it at an antique store in my hometown and it looked like fun. We asked the spirit we contacted the name of my paternal grandfather (who was killed in a drunk driving accident before any of us were born). The Ouiji board (or whatever) was able to tell us my grandfather's full name, which my friends could not have known. It was an unsettling experience and I have avoided Ouiji boards ever since. I don't know if they are evil but I believe in leaving well enough alone.

WOW! How old are you people? Highschool? You REALLY believe in ouiji boards? Ouiji boards have NEVER stood up to ANY scientific proof. Just ask James Randi. He will give 1 million dollars to ANYONE who can prove that they work under controlled scientific settings. If you REALLY believe, then go collect your money. Here is the website.

Personally, I don't really believe in a lot of paranormal things, but having had a pretty serious experience with a ouiji board I am starting to believe a bit more. I was over my friend Jessica's house one night, when a few other friends came over. Two girls, Megan and Molly brought a ouiji board with them, and we all sat down to watch them as they used it. We turned out the lights, and after some time, the "spirit" said that it wanted to speak to Brian.

Now at first I figured that meant nothing, since there was no Brian in our group, but Jessica screamed because the family that owned the house prior to her had a son named Brian. His father had actually hit his head and died in the basement that we were in. Megan and Molly had no way of knowing that.

They started asking more questions, and the "spirit" stated that he was Brian's dad, and that he wanted us to tell Brian to quit smoking (he is apparently a very severe smoker) among other things. I have some other experiences as well, but this one really stuck out in my mind. You be the judge!

Personally I've never tried so I'm sitting on the fence on this one.
However, my husbands uncle recently passed away and his deeds to his home stated that the ouija board placed in the cupboard under the stairs was never to be removed.
My husband, trying to be a clever so and so, tried to remove this from the property whilst doing the house clearance. He told me that a single clap of thunder happened. He threw the ouija board back under the stairs and felt a little unnerved about his ordeal.
I guess that things like this should never be underestimated and should be treated with caution.
However I am curious to know how the new owners of the property are getting on with there inheritance. SJC

Yes, but DO NOT DO IT. It's a bad, bad idea. I've done it before and it was not good. You have no protection and you can open yourself up to some really scary things. Especially don't use a storebought one, or one that someone made. If you have to do it, make one out of paper, use a blessed stone, and put a circle of salt around the board. It's not a good idea though, and remember that spirits are like people. They can lie.

I bought an old ouiji board once and used it by myself (which i do not recommend doing) I was asking questions and getting alot of yes and no. I was asking it how i could make lots of money and it wouldnt tell me. Then i asked was it because they wanted something in return and it answered yes. Then i asked what....thats when it spelled out "Need a roomie?" The first thing i thought was it wanted to live in my apartment...then about 5 seconds later, i realized it was asking if it could live in my body. Needless to say i freaked out and left the house and never used the board again.

Your prob guna get loads of ppl saying that it's all a load of crap but in my experience they are very real and not to be messed with.
My sister in laws parents house is haunted. The house was an old butchers. She is one of 4 sisters. When they were teens they had some friends round to do one, it appeared to work and gave horrible answers to the questions asked and thats when the trouble started. Afterwards her mother was getting black eyes in her sleep and so was her father. The spirit appeared to be living in their bedroom, when she was heavily pregnant with her first child she spent some time at the house close to her delivery date. She woke one night to find an immence pressure on her legs, so bad she could not get out of bed, as if someone was sitting on her. Her mother and father kept their enounters a secret from the kids until they had all left home but it got so bad in the end that they moved out of that bedroom and have sealed the door. They still live there. Neighbours have since reported seeing an old woman standing in the bedroom window on several occasions?

Even is it is a load of codswollop- it sure scares the crap outa me!!!

Here is my personal experience with the Ouija Board:
When I asked the spirit what are the names of my future boyfriends, it only revealed the letter "M." All my three ex-boyfriends were named Marcus, Matthew and Mark. I felt like I was cursed since all three relationships went down the drain. My last relationship lasted for 4 years and I thought we would make it and break the curse.
I'm usually not a believer in superstitions and Ouija Boards, however, this incident has been giving me the creeps for years. Now I refuse to associate with people (especially guys) whose names start with the letter “M”.
Paranoid? Perhaps. Think it was all a coincident? You be the judge.
