most tenth graders go to bioligy but i have the choice to take chemistry. If i choose chemistry then i would have to take both my 10th grade year. then i could move on to higher classes or ap classes in 11th grade. i really dont know what to do tho. my mom says that i shouldnt put that much presure on me unless i plan to take a career in science but my dad thinks i should go for it. what do you think?

Go for it !
Strategically, getting AP credit for Chemistry is very helpful freshmen year in college. 1st year Chemistry is one of the traditional weed out courses at many colleges. Chemistry is much more useful in the job market than biology. Most technology is in some way linked to chemistry.

don't do it unless u go to a science or medical career in ur future. it's the same way sort of in our school. (are u in NY?)
i take chem. and i'm in tenth. i took bio last year.
yea, 2 science courses are super hard and think how you'll be come finals time??
i didn't do 2 this year cuz i thought I'd be so stressed. u have so much time to decide! :)

Go for it, Biology is generally useless without the application and most of that is in chemistry. Also taking two subjects when everyone else is taking one will really set you apart from the crowd and will give you better job prospects in the future. Ultimately the choice is yours and not your mothers.

No offense, but I think you should take English. And your parents, if they care about your future as much as you indicate, should be aware that a 10th grader who spells and constructs sentences as you do should be in remedial school if she's looking forward to college, much less a career as a professional. This is nothing to be ashamed of, but it's as bad for you as not brushing your teeth, and needs to be attended to soon, before it catches up with you.
Especially if you read as poorly as you write, as things stand you will lose whatever you major course of study is. Reading technical data and writing papers about it -- you'll never manage, nor will you be able to "fake it" as you apparently have up to now in High School.
It's not your fault. But now, it's up to you to fix it. Otherwise, studying science is going to be like trying to race with a flat tire. I doesn't matter how talented and enthusiastic you are, or what "color you car is". Chemistry color or or biology color -- you won't win, if you can keep up at all.

You should take chemistry if you can. then you can take AP Class next year. If you pass the AP Exam next year, then you don't have to take that course again. Take AP Course during High School is a smart choice.

If you think you can take the pressure then go for it! Anyway it would be a good test on how well you are at handling things.
Its pretty strange that you can only pick one science, we have to do all three at my school.
Good luck (:

i would take biology because it is much easier to be on track instead!!! when i was in 7th grade i took 8th grade science and did not do so well and in 8th grade i had to take biology...eewww it was a 9th grade class!
i like biology better and being in that class will make you seem like less of a nerd (even though you never were one) and you will probably be with more friends that way...even though you probably dont care!
tell your dad you are not ready! but you dont have to listen to me! lol♥
GOOD LUCK :-)
