The process is very simple, The hard part is convincing the agent to represent you.

First compile a list of potential agents.
Second contact all those agents to see whether they'd be interested in representing you.

Mail them three items:
You head shot
Your Resume
A one page cover letter ( to introduce yourself to an agent)

Your whole goal at this point is to get the agent to agree to meet with you in person to evaluate you as a potential client.

The letter should really do the following

Introduce yourself and your most impressive acting experience
State that you're seeking representation
List any additional reason why the agent would be interested in you.

Mass mail your package to every union franchised agent. Then, after a one week waiting period, start contacting each agency to ask for an appointment.

Send your package ordinary mail because once opened your headshot will be placed in a pile with the rest of them.

I hope this helps. :)

Nothing. Most agents are garnered through referrals. Aside from that, you had better have a VERY IMPRESSIVE list of acting credits to your name prior to even considering contacting an agent. And I don't mean a couple of little school plays under your belt. I mean REAL credits in the business. In addition, you need to be at least 18 years old. I suggest you stay in school and study hard. Your education is what will get you ahead.

the only guy or woman who needs a writing agent is somebody who has been provided a freelance by a publishers. At which factor it rather is extremely uncomplicated, you ask your writer for a reccomendation, you touch pronounced agent with a querry letter affirming your writer's reccomendation. in case you insist once you have an agent first, each and every of the above suggestion on sending querry letters applies. Querry letters are actually not seen unsolicited cloth as long because of the fact the agent is accepting new purchasers.

Unless you are 18, you shouldn't because you are not old enough to enter into a contract. Mom or dad has to do that for you. Why do you want to write to an agent anyway? They will not be interested in you until you have lots of expereince and training.

What are you writing about?

If you're seeking representation, then the cover letter ought to be dramatically brief: "Enclosed is my resume and head shot, thanks for your consideration."

Are you a member of an actors' union (Equity, SAG or AFTRA)? If not, no legitimate agent will consider you--and if any agent seems interested, you should suspect they're out to get your money and little else.
